Very early version bought by the previous owner when it just was released in 1983. Some minor flaws consisting with age. Patina to seat.

• background:

Archetypal shapes in architectural geometry inspire these historical masterpieces. Designed by the great contemporary architect from the Ticino canton for the interiors of some of his famous buildings, they have become classics, icons of design made in Italy.

Mario Botta, born in Mendrisio in 1943, graduated from the University of Venice, where he worked with Le Corbusier and Luis Kahn. He taught and carried out research in Europe, Asia and the US. He has been working with Alias since 1982. For them he designed two of his most famous chairs seconda and quinta – on show at the MoMA. An award-winning architect, he has published several works, and in 1996 founded the Academy of Swiss Architecture. He lives and works in Lugano.
